Draxler going nowhere, Schalke chairman warns

The Germany international midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in recent months but the Bundesliga club have no intention of selling their starSchalke chairman Clemens Tonnies insists Julian Draxler will be going nowhere in January.
Manchester United and Arsenal have extensively scouted the Germany international in recent seasons, while Manchester City are also believed to have shown an interest in acquiring the 21-year-old.
With Schalke in talks with the Premier League champions over a possible move for Matija Nastasic, reports have suggested that City were keen to include a move for Draxler in the deal, but Tonnies has now rubbished such rumours.
"We have absolutely no thoughts about him leaving on short notice,” he told Sport Bild. “Schalke is the place where he can develop best and I told him that in person.
"My opinion is also, that Julian has developed greatly, especially regarding his personality.
"He had a setback with his injury and, as with every big player at a young age, he had a weaker period. But Julian will have a fantastic career."
Draxler has made 12 appearances in all competitions this season, despite suffering a serious thigh injury in November.
