Falcao says he knows Van Gaal has a philosophy but he needs "more minutes"

It's hard to look at Radamel's Falcao's time at Manchester United so far as anything other than a disappointment. The hopes were so high when Falcao arrived at Manchester United from AS Monaco on loan and injury and fitness issues have held the Colombian back.

Luck has also played a part. Bad luck. When Robin van Persie was woefully off form and Wayne Rooney suspended, Falcao could have done with being consistently available for selection. It was no fault of his own that he wasn't, but things would likely be a lot different for the striker had he been fit for Manchester United then.

Right now Robin van Persie has rediscovered his form and Wayne Rooney is also playing well, it's difficult to see where Falcao gets a game - especially given Manchester United's relatively sparse schedule. The Colombian press were surprised and disappointed when James Wilson was given the nod ahead of Falcao against Liverpool and there were suggestions, including from Faustino Asprilla, that Van Gaal must have a personal problem with his loan man.

Falcao himself has been speaking to Blu Radio in Colombia and said that whilst he knows Van Gaal has his own way of doing things, he's looking forward to more minutes on the pitch for Manchester United.

"I'm happy with this winning streak we're having, also because we are playing well, but surely a few more minutes and more opportunities to play will come.

"The coach has a philosophy, which I respect and I feel great, very comfortable... so I'll have to wait for a chance."

Juan Mata was with his Manchester United teammate at the time of the interview and told Blu Radio that Falcao is excellent in training and a perfect professional.
