The January transfer window was officially opened today on Sunday 3 January and Manchester United have until Saturday 2 February at 11pm to complete any winter signings.
Although the January window is not typically as busy as the summer, United have signed some great players in the past including the likes of Nemanja Vidic, Patrice Evra and more recently Juan Mata.
As of today, what are the current reports and murmurings about arrivals and departures at United?
Louis van Gaal's affection for Kevin Strootman is public knowledge and there will be plenty of reports and stories about a move for the AS Roma midfielder in January. Whether or not a move materialises this winter remains to be seen but expect reports to gather pace.
Ron Vlaar will be a free agent in the summer and his importance to Holland at the World Cup means a move could potentially make sense given United's defensive frailties. Reports linking Vlaar to United began in the summer and they will continue.
Other defenders who have been linked include Diego Godin, Miranda, Ezequiel Garay and Pepe. We'll keep track of all the latest updates regarding all of them.
As for outgoings, Anderson is somebody most United fans want to see leave but it all depends on whether a club wants to sign him. Others who could leave include Nick Powellwho could be sent out on loan once again.
Will this be a busy window for United? After spending £150m in the summer, the club certainly has the funds but it all depends if Louis van Gaal can sign the players he wants rather than short-term options. Either way, The Peoples Person will be keeping you up-to-date will all the news.
