The transfer window is only beginning to creak itself open and Arturo Vidal has managed to wedge himself in it and start a fuss, of course none of that of his own making. Or any making for that matter.
Squawka on Saturday say 'Big Man Utd Move For South American Ace Will Be Complete -Report' and go on to say 'Reports: Man United target Arturo Vidal told he can leave for Old Trafford in the summer' and 'According to reports, Juventus have told Manchester United target Arturo Vidal that he will be sold at the end of the season to free up money and cash in on the Chilean.'
Squawka link to those reports which turn out to be a report from The Daily Express. The British newspaper said 'Juventus tell Man Utd target Arturo Vidal he will be SOLD at end of season - Juventus have warned Manchester United target Arturo Vidal that he will be sold at the end of the season unless his performances dramatically improve.'
Squawka left out the bit about improving performances, over sensationalising an already over sensationalised Daily Express article is a new high. The Daily Express said 'reports in Italy claim that Vidal will be sold in the summer unless he can show some consistency following a number of injury issues mainly to do with his knee.'
No shock there. So the reports in Italy? Turin newspaper Tuttosport explained on Saturday that Juventus want more from Vidal in 2015 and expected to get it as he's now closer to full fitness and form. If he fails to get back near his best then his future will be considered. That's it.
No mention of him going to Manchester United other than to state their interest of last summer, and that of Real Madrid, as in a way to show how far the knee injury set him back. Should Vidal not be able to be important for Juve long term, due to that injury, that's he's ushered out of the club - then it's highly unlikely either Manchester United or Real Madrid would be interested.
