Alex Song is closing in on a shock return to Arsenal after Arsene Wenger reportedly signalled his interest in re-signing the midfielder.
Song has been told he can leave Barcelona this summer for just £10million as he does not feature in the plans of new manager Luis Enrique, and a host of top teams are keen.
Liverpool appeared to be in pole position last week, but now El Mundo Deportivo says Arsenal are the clear front runners for his signature after Wenger gave the green light to the move.

The Spanish newspaper says Wenger has been convinced of the merits of bringing Song back to the Emirates Stadium and is now looking into a deal.
Arsenal need cover in defensive midfield and centre back, both positions Song can play, and while he is reportedly asking for a huge salary, he is open to a deal.
No talks between the two clubs have taken place yet but Song’s future is expected to be sorted out in the next few days.
