Daley Blind pictured in aiport on way to Manchester United medical
Manchester United confirmed this morning that a fee had been agreed with Ajax and Netherlands star Daley Blind
The 24-year old shone for Louis van Gaal’s Dutch side in the World Cup and after confirmation of his move, he was spotted in Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport ready to catch a flight to Manchester.
Blind can play across the left side of defence and as a holding midfielder so will add plenty of versatility to a United side which is currently struggling for numbers in both positions.
His father Danny was captain of Van Gaal’s European Cup winning Ajax side in 1995 and it appears Blind has been a long-term target for the new United manager since impressing in Brazil, particularly in the opening 5-1 win over then world champions Spain.
The signing of Blind takes United’s summer spending to just under £150m since Van Gaal took over in July.
The Ajax man is expected to undertake a medical over the weekend and will join the club officially before Monday’s 11pm deadline.
