MAN UTD POTENTIAL 4-3-3 FORMATION NO ROONEY OR VAN PERSIE

Man Utd potential 4-3-3 formation – No Rooney or Van Persie

The Peoples Person’s look at possible Manchester United formations this season continues tonight with a look at a variation on the 4-3-3 which Louis van Gaal could well use.

The 4-3-3 under Van Gaal has always relied on a lightning quick counter-attack and in Angel di Maria, Van Gaal has the perfect player who could play an Arjen Robben type role at United.

We’ve given Adnan Januzaj the other spot on the wing because he thrived there last year and under Van Gaal could really blossom into the world class player we all know he’ll become in the fullness of time.

However, the big changes come in the middle with Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney benched in order for Juan Mata to play in behind Radamel Falcao.

This counter-attacking formation relies on pace on the wings and an instinct in the middle. Radamel Falcao leads the line as a lone striker and with Mata coming in behind him for support. Of course, Van Gaal could choose to play Rooney in the same role as Mata if he so wished.
What do you think of this formation? Leave your suggestions in the comments.
