Robin van Persie insists he is ready to battle new signing Radamel Falcao for a starting spot at Manchester United.
Falcao arrived at Old Trafford on a lucrative one-year loan deal from Ligue 1 giants Monaco on transfer deadline day to bolster an impressive array of attacking options which already boasts club captain Wayne Rooney, Van Persie and Juan Mata.
The signing of the Colombian superstar has raised suggestions that at least one of Louis van Gaal's marquee frontmen will lose his place in the team, but Van Persie is adamant he will scrap to make sure he is not the one dropped.
"I am happy with the arrival of Falcao," the Dutchman told Fox Sports.
