Chelsea agree deal for French keeper

Premier League giants Chelsea have secured the signature of French goalkeeper Nicolas Tie, according to L’Equipe.

The Blues seem to have won the race for the 13-year-old footballer, who will join the club in 2017 when he turns 16.

The teenager currently plays for FC Poitiers, a club from his hometown, but has already attracted interest from Arsenal and Manchester City, who were also keen on his signature.

Tie is 6ft 1in tall shot-stopper and is predicted a bright future in the game, with a move to Stamford Bridge likely to further aid his development.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho currently has two world-class goalkeepers at his disposal, with Thibaut Courtois preferred to veteran Petr Cech at the start of the new season.

The Blues resume their Premier League campaign next weekend by facing Crystal Palace away and they can be backed at 4/11 to claim maximum points and cement the first place in the standings.
