MAN UNITED GOALSCORING HERO HAS NO FUTURE AT CLUB
Former Manchester United star Paul McGrath says that Marouane Fellaini will never be given a proper chance in his best position at Old Trafford, and thus he should move on.
The Belgian signed for the Red Devils last year during the woeful David Moyes era, joining in a £27.5m deal from Everton.
Although a top Premier League performer with the Toffees, Fellaini has struggled with United after being dropped back from his role as the ‘No. 10’ at Goodison Park into the midfield.
He came on against West Brom in an advanced position to fire home his first goal for the club on Monday night, but with the presence of Juan Mata, Angel di Maria and Wayne Rooney, McGrath feels that he’s unlikely to get the opportunities he needs to prove himself:
“United fans haven’t seen the best of him because he has never really played in his best position. Only probably once or twice has he played up front.” He told talkSPORT.
“He showed last night it is possible for him to have a presence at Manchester United but, with the abundance of talent we have got up there, he may never get that chance.
“It is a pity for him that he is put in midfield. He did change the game last night because he put himself about, but I don’t think his future would be at Manchester United, I really don’t.”
Fellaini was linked with a summer move away from United, with Napoli thought to have been keen on a loan deal.
