PICTURE: Potential 4-4-2 Man Utd diamond vs Cambridge – Valdes debut
Manchester United’s attentions once again focus on cup football, as this Friday Louis van Gaal’s men head South to take on Cambridge United in the FA Cup. Cambridge are the lowest ranked side in the competition, and many expect the Iron Tulip to rest a whole host of key names for the clash.
The game will almost certainly see Victor Valdes make his Manchester United debut, but the chances of a young back four in front of him is looking likely. The centre-back duo will probably be Tyler Blackett and Paddy McNair, with Rafael da Silva and Luke Shaw backing them up on the flanks.
Darren Fletcher will make a rare start, as will Adnan Januzaj. Club captain Wayne Rooney will probably partner James Wilson up top, with Ander Herrera getting a deserved start too.
