Juan Mata: I've spoken to De Gea 'a lot' and there's no issue with Van Gaal or Manchester United12:47, 8 SEPTEMBER 2015UPDATED 12:57, 8 SEPTEMBER 2015BY ROB DAWSONMan Utd midfielder Juan Mata says he expects David De Gea to have a good season at Old Trafford despite his failed move to Real Madrid.
Juan Mata insists there's no problem between Louis van Gaal and David De Gea following the Spanish goalkeeper's botched transfer to Real Madrid.
Mata has revealed he spoken to De Gea 'a lot' after the 24-year-old saw his proposed move to the Bernabeu collapse on deadline day because of an administrative error.
And he says there is no issue with Van Gaal - who had hinted the keeper wasn't keen to play earlier this season - and expects De Gea to be fully focused when he returns to Carrington later this week.
Mata said: “I’ve talked with him a lot. There have been hectic and stressful days but he is such a quiet, centred person, nothing changes.
“The last two years David has been the best player in our team. His saves have earned us a lot of points. I have no doubt this will be a very good year, too.
“I don’t think there’ll be a problem with the club, the Coach or the fans. That’s what I perceive. The fans love him very much, he’s highly regarded by the club and the coach.
“I think it will be the same. Herrera and I will continue saving on petrol."
