Sunderland in race for Chelsea forward

Sunderland are hoping to secure a loan deal for Chelsea winger Mohamed Salah, according to reports.

The Egypt international has found first-team opportunities hard to come by at Stamford Bridge since joining from FC Basel back in January, making just two substitute appearances in the Premier League.

Due to his lack of game time the 22-year-old is now seeking an exit from Stamford Bridge.

Jose Mourinho is not keen to lose the attacker on a permanent deal but would be happy to allow him to leave on loan.

Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan are interested but the Blues boss would prefer Salah to get some Premier League experience under his belt.

Sunderland, managed by former Chelsea player Gus Poyet, is looking to add some more quality to his squad and sees the wide man as the perfect alternative to long- term target Fabio Borini, who is not keen on another switch to the Stadium of Light after a successful loan switch from Liverpool last term.
