Alves ‘agrees Man Utd move’

Barcelona right-back Dani Alves has already agreed to join Manchester United when his contract expires next summer, according to the Daily Express.

The Spanish club are so far yet to offer the Brazil international a new deal, leading to speculation over his future, and his agent stated in the week that the player would make a decision in December or January after considering all the options available to him.

Despite that, Dinorah Santana also said that if Barcelona wanted to keep Alves, they would have already offered him an extension.

Chelsea and Liverpool have both reportedly been chasing Alves in recent months, with the 31-year-old in his seventh season as a Barcelona player having joined from Sevilla in the summer of 2008. He has gone on to win three La Liga titles and two Champions League winners’ medals among other silverware.

Despite the interest of Jose Mourinho and Brendan Rodgers, Alves now appears to be heading to Old Trafford, with FIFA agent Francois Gallardo suggesting that a deal was already in place. He said: "The player will leave Barcelona next season. He has signed a preliminary agreement with Manchester United."
