Barcelona coach Luis Enrique said he does not know if Luis Suarez is currently fully fit but was adamant that the striker is not overweight.
The Uruguay international is preparing to make his debut for his new club with his suspension for biting Giorgio Chiellini during the World Cup now nearing its end.
Suarez will be eligible to line up for Barca's senior side for the first time when it faces fierce rival Real Madrid in El Clasico on Oct. 25 and his coach says he is not sure how close to full fitness he is.
"It is hard to say," he told reporters when asked about the summer signing's condition. "He feels he has improved compared to the first training sessions and the games with his country have helped him. I don’t know if he’s at 100 percent, 80 percent or 90 percent fitness — but he is not fat. You will have seen that. He has been in form for the past few months."
Barcelona takes on Eibar on Saturday and Luis Enrique says he is expecting a lively encounter despite the huge gulf in resources between the two clubs.
"They are not a team who shut up shop," he said. "They have got good results away from home. I expect a team that pushes high up the pitch, that falls back well and is good on the counter. They are bold and valiant. The Camp Nou plays its part, but we will see interesting things from them going forward. I don’t think they will be frightened. I think they will come out like they did at Atletico Madrid."
