Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini is trying to persuade star midfielder Kevin Strootman to sign a contract extension to quieten Manchester United talk.
Reports keep circulating suggesting that Manchester United will swoop for Roma star Kevin Strootman and the Serie A side are trying to strengthen their grip on him.
Strootman was integral to Rudi Garcia's side last season as Roma established themselves as title contenders, but he was sidelined in March by a cruciate knee ligament injury that ruled him out of the World Cup.
The injury may have also postponed Manchester United's attempts to lure the Dutchman, but almost every week a new reports states that Louis van Gaal wants to link up with his former charge.
Strootman has finally returned to training, albeit some way short of full training, and he is pencilled in for a return to action in December.
If the 24-year-old manages to return to full strength before January, he could be back on United's radar, despite assurances from Roma that they have no intention of selling.
