David de Gea ‘agrees’ terms with Real Madrid ahead of summer move

Manchester United brought in Victor Valdes earlier on in the January transfer window, and immediately many then questioned whether David de Gea would remain at the club, despite Louis van Gaal saying that Valdes was only coming in as a back up keeper.
Last night, The Metro claimed that De Gea has now ‘agreed terms’ with Real Madrid ahead of a proposed move to the Bernabeu. They go on to add that United would demand £50million for his signature, despite him only having eighteen months left to run on his current deal.
Its clear that United want him to stay at the club, and although no new contract offer is on the table just yet, talks are expected to take place in the not too distant future.
This saga has taken a lot of twists and turns already, with several sources reporting different things. We should know a whole lot more regarding this one come the summer though, because if he hasn’t put pen to paper by then its pretty obvious that he’ll be heading back to sunny Spain.
