Done deal - Manchester United approve signing of Aleksandar Dragovic for €20m, Austrian reports grow
Manchester United have approved the signing of Austrian international Aleksander Dragovic according to a claim in the country. The Premier League club have been linked with the player repeatedly over the past couple of days and it's either over-excitement from some in the Austrian media, or a deal is on the verge of being finalised.
Austria's Sport Net say that Manchester United's board in place at Old Trafford have given the green light for the transfer it's only a veto from the Glazer family which could stop a deal. That veto is stated as being very unlikely. The footballer's contract is apparently done and ready to be signed.
The price of the transfer is put at €20m which will be a good fee as far as his current club Dynamo Kiev are concerned. Manchester United may feel that's a little high for the 23 year old but it's not too unreasonable.
Manchester United have been linked with many central defenders during the current transfer window and Dragovic is just one of those. Whilst there's no denying that the Austrian claims sound encouraging, there's every possibility someone is mistaken or going over the top.
Sport Net are not the only ones with the claims, Laola (Austria's biggest sport media outlet) are carrying them too and it originally comes from Kronen Zeitung newspaper.
Thanks to Austrian journalist Fabian Zerche for his help on this.
